This is a photo of a compliant pool gate in the door jamb of a door that leads from the house into the pool area. Does this comply with the pool safety legislation YES/NO?
I didn't realize that pools need kid-safe fencing from an external house entrance. I have never seen a pool safety gate used like this before in QLD but maybe I don't get out enough. Can you just use a regular door with a normal top lock barrel-bolt that is above say 1.5 meters?
Hi FaithOfChoiceDotCom, Australian Standard 1926.2-2007 Clause 4.2 states "Barriers for outdoor pools shall not permit direct access to the pool area from the building or adjoining properties." So the answer to your question is no you must leave the building and then access the pool through an approved barrier. I hope this helps. Regards Pool Safety Certification
